THE ROLE OF OUR COMMUNITY
Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACES) create problems for the community as a whole.
By acknowledging these issues and actively working to solve existing problems and prevent future problems, we can help children succeed while building strong families and an even stronger community.
What can community members do to help advance TMI?
- Spread the word about TMI
- Volunteer your time as a mentor
- Hand out brochures on trauma awareness at community-wide events
- Host a meeting or event that promotes ACEs awareness
TMI works with Martinsburg students and families
WHAT CAN TMI DO FOR YOUR FAMILY?
We want to strengthen our families by building upon their strengths. We want to empower your family to thrive, not just survive. We are stronger together, which makes our community stronger, and creates a brighter future for our students.
- Mentor your child
- Social workers to connect you and your child to resources
- Family Support program to connect your family to needed resources and/or assist with your child's behavior
- Support Groups for caregivers
- Police Visits to classrooms in each school
- Summer Camps
- After School Programs such as Yoga, Zumba, STEM, Running, Robotics, and Gymnastics
