Students with ACEs frequently exhibit the following risk factors:

Harmful psychological effects on brain development that hinder the ability to focus and learn
To become certified as a Trauma-Sensitive Educator, participants will take the four Core Trainings in the assigned progression for six hours.
Participants will then complete all three sessions of the Nurtured Heart Approach Training.
To complete certification, participants must take all three of the Completer Trainings for the last six hours of training. Observations by The Martinsburg Initiative Family and Community Outreach Coordinator and the Training and Communications Coordinator will complete the certification process.
