THE MARTINSBURG POLICE DEPARTMENT
The department partners with TMI by regularly visiting classrooms in our eleven target schools to foster positive relationships with students.
The department also incorporates trauma-informed policy by practicing Handle With Care, a program designed to alert the school system when a child has experienced a possible traumatic event.
SHEPHERD UNIVERSITY
Proving our value with analytics and data.
As a higher-educational institution, Shepherd University partners with TMI to provide support through data analytics and evaluation measures designed to increase program validity and implementation. Shepherd students participate in our school-mentoring program and benefit from the trauma awareness training provided by TMI.
BERKELEY COUNTY PUBLIC SCHOOLS
We provide care and resources for students and educators.
The Martinsburg Initiative is passionate about providing the best care and resources for students and educators in Berkeley County Schools. We have 10 social workers and one family and community outreach coordinator working in our 10 target schools, providing everything from social-emotional skill-building groups to parenting classes and wrap-around services.
Washington/Baltimore HIDTA
Because traumatic experiences often have negative health consequences...
TMI has partnered with The Washington/Baltimore High Intensity Drug Trafficking Area and The National Association of County and City Health Officials that connects public health and public safety. Within this partnership support through TMI is provided to the Berkeley County Health Department & WVU medicine to expand the reach of trauma informed systems of care.
The Martinsburg Initiative Drug-Free WV Coalition depends on the support of its community partners.
With over 30 members representing the community, Drug-Free WV has invested substantial time in strengthening our DFC Task Force, Prescription Opioid Prevention, and Nicotine/Vaping Prevention organizations. We currently have Youth Coalitions at two local high schools and two middle schools.
